Home services

How we got there: home services

The specific changes behind each home services result.

HVAC, plumbing and electric · Denver, CO

+144% more leads, CPL down 40%

They came to us reporting on clicks. We rebuilt conversion tracking so a lead meant a real call or form, then moved budget toward the services that actually booked. Everything after that was arithmetic.

Plumbing and HVAC · San Francisco Bay Area

3x conversion rate

Traffic was never the problem. We rewrote the landing experience, cut the search terms that never booked, and put every inbound call through classification so the team could see which calls were real.

Garage doors · Las Vegas, NV

-25% cost per lead

Negative keyword work, a tighter geography, and bids driven by booked calls rather than form fills. No new channel and no bigger budget.

HVAC and plumbing · Austin, TX

983 booked calls from Local Services Ads

Local Services Ads charge per lead, so a junk call costs the same as a booked job. Every call goes through transcription and classification, and the junk ones go to the dispute queue instead of being quietly absorbed.

B2B tech

How we got there: B2B tech

Category and funding stage only, with the CRM number rather than the platform number wherever we had it.

Life sciences R&D platform · Series F

-71% cost per conversion

They were buying broad category terms that never reached the ICP. We cut those, rebuilt the account around the products with real pull, and let the budget follow.

AI data platform · Series A

-32% cost per conversion

Most of the gap was message match: the ads promised one thing and the page argued another. We rebuilt both around the use case buyers actually arrive with.

Workflow automation SaaS · Series A

150 sales-accepted leads in one quarter

The number that mattered was the second one. A 50% MQL to SAL rate means the definition of a lead held up on the other side of the handoff, which is where most paid programs quietly fail.

Method

How the numbers are proven

If a figure cannot survive the question "compared to what, over what period", it does not belong here.

  • Google Ads conversions as reported. Taken from the account, not from a model layered on top of it.
  • CRM-verified where we have it. Booked jobs from ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro or GoHighLevel; opportunities from HubSpot or Salesforce.
  • Booked calls from call classification. A transcript sits behind every booked-call figure, scored by MicksonBrain™.
  • Same quarter, year over year. Where the account has the history. Where it does not, the first full quarter we ran against Q3 2026. The period is printed on every card.
  • What we took off this page. Two claims from the old site did not hold up in the current data, so they are gone rather than restated.
The Revenue and jobs tab of a MicksonBrain™ report: revenue from all sources, completed so far, average ticket, paid-tagged revenue, booked ROAS, blended ROAS, jobs with no lead source and cost per paid job.
The tab these figures are read from.
The standard

Our standard for publishing a result

Four tests. A result that fails any one of them is not published.

It has to be reproducible

We can open the account and show the same number on the same dates.

It has to carry a period

A figure without "compared to what, over what period" is not a result.

It has to be ours

Programs we ran. Not a channel that happened to improve while we worked elsewhere.

It has to survive a screen-share

Every card on this page can be opened live on a call.

The work

The same four steps on every account

Four things we do on every account, in this order, whatever the business is.

  1. Fix the measurement first

Nothing is optimized until a lead means a real call or form, joined to the CRM.

  2. Move budget toward what books

Spend follows booked jobs and opportunities, not platform conversions.

  3. Listen to what happened after the click

Every call scored, so the junk rate is a measurement rather than an argument.

  4. Keep working after the handoff

A lead sales will not accept is not a result, so we track it through to the CRM.
